Vein Cauterization

  • Cape Town Vein cauterization

Vein Cauterization involves the removal of the small red veins that are often seen on the face, neck and décolleté.  These are otherwise known as ‘broken’ capillaries, rosacea, spider veins, couperose or telangiatasia.

Majority or all will be gone after initial, 30 minute treatment. Between one and three sessions are recommended, depending on the severity of the condition.

The treatment is quick, successful and quick healing.  A galvanic current is used and the vein disappears immediately.

The skin will be red on the area for minutes to hours after treatment, depending on skin type and amount of veins removed.  Tiny pinprick scabs on the skin’s surface fall off within a week after procedure.

AFTERCARE

For one week only:

  • An antiseptic cream like Savlon cream is to be used twice a day under moisturiser
  • A sunblock to be applied daily
  • No facials, scrubs, exfoliants or products containing AHAs (fruit acids)
  • Don’t pick scabs

A foundation, if necessary, can be applied on area after 24 hours
